Q. Why is Faithful Shepherd Catholic School conducting a campaign at this time?
A. A feasibility study conducted in 2007 supported initiation of a capital campaign at this time to pay down a portion of the building cost debt. Reducing the debt and refinancing the balance will also allow the School to eliminate a substantial amount of interest expense from its annual budget, strengthening the School's ability to invest in other priorities that maintain and enhance the quality of education available at Faithful Shepherd Catholic School.

Q. What are the objectives of the Shepherd the Way capital campaign?
A. The Faithful Shepherd Catholic School Board of Directors has set a campaign goal of $2.5 million dollars. Two million dollars will be paid directly to reduce the school's building debt and $500,000 will provide for future technology needs at the school.

Q. How do I make a gift to Faithful Shepherd Catholic School?
A. You can make a gift by filling out the enclosed pledge card.

Q. Is it possible to have my gift matched?
A. Yes, if your employer has a matching gift program. Your employer may match certain employee contributions to nonprofit institutions, such as Faithful Shepherd Catholic School. This could double or triple your pledge. Check with your personnel office or human resources department to see if your employer has a matching gift program. Faithful Shepherd is accredited with the MNSAA and is a 501c(3) non-profit institution which makes it eligible for these types of matching gifts.

Q. Are there other ways to make a non-cash gift to Faithful Shepherd Catholic School?
A. There are many ways to give to Faithful Shepherd Catholic School, including a gift of securities and stock. Please consult your tax advisor to discuss the benefits of gifting assets other than cash.

Q. May I make a named or memorial gift?
A. Yes. There are several naming opportunities available to honor the loving memory of a friend or loved one, or to make a special intention.

Q. If I make a pledge to Faithful Shepherd, how many years do I have to fulfill it?
A. Donors have three years from the date of their pledge to fulfill the balance.

Q. Will my gift be recognized?
A. Yes, gifts to the Shepherd the Way capital campaign, regardless of amount, will be recognized in a special remembrance book to be placed on display. Gifts of $1,000 or more will receive special recognition which will be prominently displayed. Donors may remain anonymous at their request.

Q. Is my contribution to the campaign tax deductible?
A. Yes. As a 501c(3) non-profit institution, contributions to Faithful Shepherd Catholic School are tax deductible in accordance with federal law. You will be provided an authorized receipt for tax recording purposes. Contact your tax advisor for details.

Q. How does Shepherd the Way Capital Campaign for Faithful Shepherd Catholic School differ from Faithful Shepherd Catholic School's normal fund-raising activities?
A. Our normal fund-raising supports the school's yearly operating budget for our students, faculty and facilities. "Shepherd the Way" Capital Campaign for Faithful Shepherd Catholic School is different in that it allows us to focus on the specific financial goals related to the school's future. The entire Faithful Shepherd community is collaborating to reach our goals.

Q. How much should I contribute to the campaign?
A. You and your family should make the decision regarding your pledge based on your ability to give, your understanding of the Faithful Shepherd need and your belief in the mission of our school.

Q. What if I can't contribute a "major" gift?
A. Each and every gift to Faithful Shepherd Catholic School is important. A successful capital campaign relies on a combination of gifts of varying amounts, underscoring the need for the involvement and support of our entire community to ensure a successful campaign. Gifs of all sizes will make a difference to the School.

Q. Will I be notified when my gift payments are due?
A. Yes. The Faithful Shepherd Development Office will send periodic reminders based on the schedule you choose when pledging your gift: monthly, quarterly or semi-annually or annually.

Q. Will Faithful Shepherd continue its other major fundraisers during the Shepherd the Way campaign?
A. Yes. Our four major fundraisers contribute to the needs of operating our school and keeping tuition affordable for all families.

Q. Who will be asked to contribute to the campaign?
A. All members of the Faithful Shepherd Catholic School community will be asked to support the campaign. Local businesses, vendors and other friends of Faithful Shepherd, including parishioners of the three sponsoring churches, will also be asked for their support.
