our history
Faithful Shepherd Catholic School began as a simple dream in 1989 to bring Catholic education to the fast-growing communities in Dakota County, Minnesota. Parents, priests and parishioners collaborated for nearly 10 years to create a vision of what a new school would be. Eventually, the church communities of St. John Neumann, St. Peter and St. Thomas Becket stepped forward to build a unique partnership in a tri-parish-supported school.
On September 5, 2000, Faithful Shepherd Catholic School welcomed its first K-8 students as the first new Catholic school built in the Archdiocese of Saint Paul and Minneapolis in 30 years. Now, around 600 children fill its halls every school day in their quest for the gift of a lifetime — an academically rigorous, faith-filled education.
